THE CAUSATIVES OF MALAGASY

Oceanic Linguistics Special Publication N 21, University of Hawaii, Honolulu, Hawaii 1986, ISBN 0-8248-1079-1 by Charles Randriamasimanana

Abstract:

This book shows that all causative constructions of Malagasy have to be derived from bi-sentential sources. A number of tests such as reflexivization, pronominalization and passivization are used to establish the validity of such a hypothesis. Each one of those processes is described in depth in Chapters Three, Four and Five, respectively.
